Nina Ridge

Biography

Nina grew up in East Sussex and Kent, but left the South East to study Mathematics at Leeds University followed by a year’s post-graduate training in Bristol to qualify as a secondary school teacher.

After a couple of years of teaching, she left to join the Met Office in 2000. Having qualified as a meteorologist, she joined the national team of weather presenters at the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Weather Centre in 2001.

She spent 15 years presenting the weather across Â鶹ÊÓƵAV national and international media outlets, including for Â鶹ÊÓƵAV World, the News at 10 on Â鶹ÊÓƵAV1, and the Today programme on Radio 4.

Having moved back to Kent where she now lives, she joined the team at Â鶹ÊÓƵAV South East in 2016. She presents the weather part-time alongside teaching mathematics at a local secondary school.

Nina has four children and is a keen masters athlete, competing at both track and field disciplines.
