The Barrage - Celebrating 30 Years of the Cardiff Barrage
It is 30 years since work began on the Cardiff Barrage, transforming the old Docklands into Cardiff Bay. Ali Kedge meets up with key people involved with this incredible structure.
In 1994 work began on the 800-metre landscaped embankment which would harness water from rivers Ely and Taff to create a freshwater lake and transform the old Docklands into Cardiff Bay. Still one of the biggest engineering projects in Europe, Ali Kedge meets up with people directly involved in the Barrage to celebrate this iconic structure and the role it has played in the regeneration of the Cardiff waterfront.
