Alex Tofalides: The fencing history-maker living his Olympic dream

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifying event, Alex Tofalides lost in the final to qualify for the Olympics.

Three years later, Tofalides secured his place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games where he became the first Cypriot fencer to qualify for the Olympics.

The foil fencer tells Sportsworld’s Lee James about his path to Paris – the setbacks and what it means to compete at an Olympic Games – and how he hopes his Olympic achievement will lead to a growth in participation in Cyprus.
