The French have a certain 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' when it comes to their skill in winning cinema's most coveted prize. French directors have won the Cannes Film Festival's prestigious Palme D'Or twice in the last four years.

And yet again, filmmakers and producers in France are savouring the taste of victory after the 2024 festival, producing some award-winning films recognised by the Jury. Some of them are movies critics are likely to be talking about right up until next year's Oscars.
