All The Small Things: How Microcinemas in New York Support Independent Filmmaking

They've sprung up in Tokyo, Berlin - and also in New York. Microcinemas are small theatres where independent filmmakers have a chance to show their work to an audience, without having to sell their film first.

Often staffed by volunteers, microcinemas provide the opposite experience of watching a big-action billion-dollar blockbuster, but, as Tom Brook discovers for Talking Movies, they have their own role in tempting audiences to experience collective movie-watching.
