How one young musician is combatting climate change

Indonesia is a nation made up of over seventeen thousand islands making it highly vulnerable to rising sea levels and extreme weather conditions.

As extreme weather events have increased both in number and strength, it has been hit hard.

Musician Rara Sekar tries to make her tours more environmentally friendly by keeping them small scale, working with communities and reducing waste.

Through her music she reflects on her relationship with nature, her feelings of eco-grief, and tries to create on what can be done to take on climate change.

"I think that music has this potential to act as a mirror. It is a very reflective medium...the power of art in building community is through connection."
