Roman Protasevich: Opposition blogger moved from prison to house arrest

Belarusian opposition blogger Roman Protasevich and his partner Sofia Sapega were detained last month when the Ryanair plane they were travelling on was forced to land in Minsk. He was taken into custody on suspicion of inciting unrest. They have both now been moved from prison to house arrest, in separate apartments.

Their detention led to sanctions being imposed on key parts of Belarus's economy.

Olga Ivshina of the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Russian Service explains how the service was contacted by Roman Protasevich's father with the news.
