RIVERS: River Stour

This episode in our rivers series takes us to the Black Country.

John Morris from Stourbridge contacted us because he'd written a poem about his local river, the Stour, which is only 25 miles long, but as he discovered, played a huge part in the industrial development of the surrounding areas.

"No Amazon or Nile, but in it's own way just as mighty...as it tiptoes unnoticed through the Black Country's backyard"

Lines taken from John's poem The Severn Stour.
