I was shot in the head during a marathon

A man has told Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Radio 5 live how he managed to complete a marathon, despite being shot in the head during the race.

Dennis Rainear was running a marathon in Michigan in 1978, when when he felt something hit the back of his head at around the 10 mile mark.

Dennis didn't realise but he'd been shot, and had a .22 calibre bullet lodged in his skull.

Despite feeling "woozy" from the bullet, he still went on to complete the race in three hours nine minutes.

Speaking to Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Radio 5 live’s Rhod Sharp, Dennis said another runner contacted him after the race claiming the bullet had been meant for him.
