Ex-International Development Secretary Priti Patel claims that she warned her own department and the Treasury about allegations of sex abuse carried out by aid workers.

Millions of pounds of taxpayers' money is given to charities and NGOs every year.

Patel told Pienaar's Politics that within the aid industry there was a culture of denial about sexual exploitation of locals by staff and that not enough checks were done by the Government before money was handed over.
