'Cutting men's pay is not a solution to equal pay'
A member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Women's advocacy group, which represents female Â鶹ÊÓƵAV journalists and producers, says that cutting men's pay "is not a solution to equal pay" for women.
Â鶹ÊÓƵAV presenter Jane Garvey was talking to Radio 4's World at One following an independent review, which found no evidence for gender bias in pay decisions for on-air Â鶹ÊÓƵAV news staff.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵAV's Director General Tony Hall says some highly-paid stars will see their pay cut, while others will be paid more.
Ms Garvey said her intention was to "get the issue of equal pay for equal work to be discussed on bus stops, in pubs, and on the front pages"
