‘#MeToo isn’t a moment, it’s my life’s work’

Men and women across the world have been sharing their stories of sexual harassment on social media, using the hashtag ‘me too’. It follows allegations of sexual assault and rape against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Activist Tarana Burke is the founder of the original Me Too campaign, which was launched ten years ago in the US. She says the current ‘me too’ hashtag represents her life’s work.

She also says because of the sheer “groundswell of support” for the movement, she doesn’t see it stopping any time soon.

“We will continue to raise our voices and we’ll continue to tell our stories until we are heard.”
