Their faith is deep in the stones below their feet

The Sami people have lived in the same parts of northern Europe for 12,000 years. They are the oldest indigenous people on the continent.

Their spirituality is linked with the land and the animals they share it with, but recently this has been threatened by the state which has clamped down on their practices, including the Yoik, a primitive visceral, chant. Here a Sami man describes finding the special stone which each Sami carries throughout their lives.

Can the young Sami maintain the culture and faith of their ancestors?
