Surprising ancestry of the Ancient Egyptians

Scientists have analysed the genomes of some ancient Egyptian mummies dating between 1300 BC to 400 AD. Professor Johannes Krause of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History was surprised by their predominantly Middle Eastern ancestry.
