'This is a set of silly questions' - John Redwood MP
Leading Brexit campaigner, John Redwood MP, has dismissed questions over UK payments to the EU as "a set of silly questions".
In an interview with Kirsty Wark, the Conservative MP responded to a Newsnight report which suggested the UK may need to make big payments to the EU to secure preferential trading terms post-Brexit.
The government has said it will not provide a running commentary of negotiations, but that all decisions concerning spending of taxpayers' money should be made in the UK.
