Legendary music mogul Jimmy Iovine talks about the biographical Netflix documentary 'The Defiant Ones', which tells the story of Jimmy's career and partnership with Dr. Dre.

One is the son of a Brooklyn longshoreman, the other straight out of Compton - their improbable partnership and surprising leading roles in a series of transformative events in contemporary culture.

The doc is a fascinating look into the careers of two icons of music. Jimmy has had an illustrious career, working with John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Tupac Shakur and Eminem (he produced Academy Award winning 8 Mile). His Interscope Records was the parent label to Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, and Jimmy suggested Dre sign Eminem. Both of them co-founded Beats Electronics which Apple Music purchased for $3billion.

An undisputed titan of the music industry, Dr Dre doesn't need an intro. His legacy as a recording artist, producer and entrepreneur is truly incredible. Initially making his name as a member of hugely influential Gangsta Rap group N.W.A., Dre went on to release two genre-defining solo albums - The Chronic and 2001 - all while producing albums for and proving instrumental in the careers of artists including 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar.
