With Sandie Shaw

Liz chats to Sandie Shaw, who is celebrating 50 years in the music industry.

Liz chats to Sandie Shaw who's celebrating 50 years in the music industry.

She first topped the charts in 1964 with her 2nd single, (There's) Always Something There to Remind Me, and went on to have 3 number one singles in the 1960's, a record for a female singer at that time. She enjoyed great success and also recorded most of her hit singles in Italian, French, German and Spanish boosting her popularity in Europe. She retired from pop singing in the early 70s and aside from a couple of singles didnt record again till the early 80s. Around this time she famously sang with The Smiths off the back of adoration from Morrissey and Johnny Marr. In the early 90s she qualified as a psychotherapist.

Liz also listeners the chance to show-off their musical knowledge with themed tune suggestions and chats to a listener about their favourite album in All Killer No Filler, which this week comes from Prince.
