Toren was born in Sweden and came to the UK when she was 30 years old. She has a real lust for life and enjoys dancing in the kitchen and having a gin and tonic every day at 6pm.

Toren’s daughter, Jessica, is a mother of three and lives in London. After a successful career in retail she became a nutritional therapist, specialising in meal planning, health coaching and nutrition education.

Jessica’s son Oskar works at an independent record company. The Marks family enjoy cooking Swedish dishes passed down from Toren, and Oskar adapts the recipes using more exotic ingredients.
