Concert Information

Trombonist and Â鶹ÊÓƵAV New Generation Artist Peter Moore joins the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Symphony Orchestra and French contemporary music expert Franck Ollu to perform Henri Tomasi’s virtuosic Trombone Concerto at the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Maida Vale Studios.

Evoking everything from street music to grandiose dance rhythms and alluring sounds of French impressionism, the concerto is followed by Roland Manuel’s arrangement of Eric Satie’s Prélude to Le Fils des étoiles and Hindemith’s Die Harmonie der Welt (The Harmony of the World) symphony, describing the search of 17th century astronomer Johannes Kepler for universal harmony, recycling motivic material from Hindemith’s epic 1957 opera of the same name.

The Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Radio 3 New Generation Artists Scheme helps to support young musicians on the threshold of an international career to reach the next stage of their development, and brings some of the world’s most promising new talent to listeners across the UK through Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Radio 3 broadcasts.

This concert will be broadcast live on Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Radio 3.
