The London pair joined forces after George offered to remix one of Aluna’s tracks for her old band, and quickly garnered support from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and 1Xtra’s MistaJam, making waves with their first EP You Know You Like It released only a year ago.
With a rare balance of dance floor legitimacy and pop nous perfectly struck, it’s easy to see why AlunaGeorge were nominated for the Brits Critic’s Choice Award and placed second for the Â鶹ÊÓƵAV Sound of 2013. A collaboration with the hot-right-now Disclosure boys secured them commercial breakthrough when White Noise reached No.2 earlier this year. The pair are set to light up the 1Xtra Arena just a month before the release of their debut album, Body Music.
